TRAPEZE WORKSHOPS

SWINGING & DYNAMICS

DYNAMIC ROLLS AND BEATS ON TRAPEZE

In this workshop students will learn the basics of moving dynamically on trapeze.  Starting with swinging under the bar by your hands and knees, and progressing to monkeyrolls, hip circles, mill circles (pinwheels) and other dynamic variations.

This workshop is for Intermediate Trapeze students with at least one year of circus arts instruction on a bar apparatus.

PREREQUISITES: Strong double kneehang and double armhang under the bar, able to perform a pullover, and hold a 10 second hip balance.

LENGTH: 90 minutes*

WEAVING & WINDING

FINDING CONTINUOUS MOVEMENT ON TRAPEZE

In this workshop students will learn combinations that require smooth continuous movement as they snake, wind and roll around the trapeze. Using familiar tricks, learn to sew them together with new and interesting transitions.

This workshop is for experienced beginners or higher.  Sequence options will be chosen based on the level of experience, with more advanced options for the more experienced.

PREREQUISITES: Basic knowledge of beginner level tricks on trapeze,
and at least 6 months experience training on a bar apparatus.

TWISTING UP THE ROPES!

CROSSES AND ROLLUPS

In this workshop students will learn combinations that twist the ropes, creating crosses and roll-ups. Exploring rope theory, learn how the rollups are all connected, and the differences between the various crossbacks.

This workshop is for experienced intermediate or higher. 

PREREQUISITES: Strength to hold a bent arm hang for 10 seconds, able to invert in the lines and flag legs.

AERIAL HOOP WORKSHOPS

WEAVING & WINDING

FINDING CONTINUOUS FLOW ON THE HOOP

In this workshop students will learn pathways that flow seamlessly from one to the next. Using familiar tricks but sewing them together with new and interesting transitions.

This workshop is for experienced beginners or higher.  Sequence options will be chosen based on the level of experience, with more advanced options for the more experienced.

able to perform a pullover, and hold a 10 second hip balance.

ROLLS, CIRCLES & DROPS

DYNAMIC MOVEMENT ON THE HOOP

Bring some dynamic movement to your hoop repertoire.  In this workshop students will learn basic principles that will unlock skills such as the monkeyroll, hip circle and mill circle (pinwheel).  Also covered will be basic release moves that can add some excitement to your routine.

This workshop is for Intermediate  students with at least one year of circus arts instruction on a bar apparatus.

AERIAL SILKS WORKSHOPS

PUZZLE PIECES

USING THE BUILDING BLOCKS TO LEARN FABRIC MATH

Students will learn how some of their more basic skills and tricks can combine to create exciting choreography and unique sequences and drops.

This workshop is for Intermediate  students with at least one year of circus arts instruction on aerial silks or rope.

PREREQUISITES: Hip Key / Scissor in the air, clean triple leg wrap, s-lock, and strong pullup position.

GYMNASTICS – BAR & RINGS

DEVELOPING THE BASICS
// LEVEL ONE

In this workshop students will learn the basic body shapes that make all gymnastics movements possible. Exploring hollow and arch on the ground, within their pushing movements, and when swinging on the bar.

Basic bar work including pullups and toes to bar will be covered, as well as the basics on gymnastics rings including safe movement patterns. All work will be progression based so this course can be for beginners, but also include some more experienced athletes looking to refine their technique.
